Hello, and welcome to Pic Inspo!
We’re Mia and Dan — a married couple obsessed with photography, hiking, coffee, and the question that started all of this: why does everything look better in someone else’s pics?
We run Pic Inspo together. We spot the trail worth photographing and look for what actually looks good on camera. We build the site, write the guides, research the gear, and figure out why our own pics kept not matching what we were actually experiencing out there.
We started Pic Inspo because we kept running into the same problem. We’d hike somewhere genuinely stunning, hand the phone to a stranger, and get back a blurry shot of our shoulders. Our coffee setup at home looked better in real life. Our outfits photographed flat. The moment was there. The pic wasn’t.
So we started figuring it out — the right tripod, the right angle, golden hour timing, the outfit formula that actually reads on camera, the home setup that photographs the way you see it in your head. We tested everything, because we use everything.
How it all started
We’ve been hiking together for years — trails in the Pacific Northwest, desert routes, coastal paths. Mia has a genuine eye for the shot. Dan just couldn’t figure out why, after all that, the photos we came home with looked nothing like what we saw.
The problem wasn’t the scenery. It was everything else — the phone settings, the angle, the timing, the gear we didn’t have. Once we started solving those problems systematically, everything changed. The pics started matching the moments. And people started asking us how.
Pic Inspo started as a place to document what we were learning. It’s grown into a full site covering photo poses, camera gear, hiking outfits, home decor, coffee setups — everything you photograph in a life you’re proud of, researched and tested the same way we’d research anything we actually care about.
What we cover
Everything on Pic Inspo exists to answer one question: how do I make this look as good in the photo as it does in real life?
That means photo poses and settings for every setup and every phone. Camera gear and tripods — the stuff that actually earns its place in your bag. Hiking outfits that photograph well and don’t make you miserable on the trail. Home decor that looks as good on camera as it does in person. Coffee setups. Gift guides built around what actually has 10,000 five-star reviews, not what someone paid us to feature.
Every product on this site has at least 4 stars and 1,000+ reviews on Amazon, and we state one honest flaw per pick. If a product is perfect on paper, we don’t trust it enough to recommend it.
A note on how we make money
We earn affiliate commissions from Amazon when you buy through our links. That’s how we keep the lights on. Your price is always the same whether you came through our link or not, and the commission never influences what we recommend. We have a full affiliate disclosure page if you want the details.
We don’t accept payment from brands, we don’t run sponsored posts, and we don’t take free products in exchange for coverage. If any of that ever changes, we’ll say so plainly.
Thank you for being here.
